Mirchi Vada - Flavour of the Desert

Desert, sand dunes and camels are not the only beauty of the Rajasthan. Like any other regions, the royal cuisine of Rajasthan carries his own traditional and specialties. The Rajasthan cuilinary world is influenced by the harsh climate and the basic availability of ingredient. They use less water and substitute with milk, buttermilk, and ghee. Rajasthanis love to eat spicy food.
Each region is distinguished by some specialty like Mawa Kachori, Samosa and Mirchi wada of Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
The Mirchi wada tempted a lot by name..... I love fiery food so I decided to venture spicy snack for the event. I have seen the recipe here. It is a chili (Mirchi) stuffed with potato masala and coated with gram flour and deep-fried! They are often sold by street Hawkers. Even, in South , it is one of the popular snack but the stuffing is different!

Let 's see how I can burst ur tongue with Mirchi Vada!

Ingredients
Long peppers : 6 (slit the chilis and remove the seeds)

For the batter:
Gram Four:
1-cup
Salt: per your taste
Turmeric: pinch

For the filling:
Potatoes:
2 medium
Cilantro: 2 tbsp chopped
Chili powder: 1 tsp
Salt: per ur taste

Method to prepare
Filling:

Boil the potatoes and mash it
Add cut coriander leaves, salt, chili powder and mix well.
Stuff the peppers with potato

Batter:
Mix all the ingredients with water to make a thick batter.
Heat the oil in a pot or deep fryer
Now dip the filled peppers in the batter till they are covered completely.
Fry them till golden brown.

I served the spicy Mirchi Vada with diced onion, cucumber and lime wedges!

My Spicy Rajasthan street snack is reaching the Rajasthani – RCI hosted by Padmaja of SpicyAndra.
