T-T at Jugalbandi

When Zlamushka announced this month choice Jugalbandi for her Tried & Tasted event. The first thing flashed in my mind, it is gonna be tough to pick one dish!
I don’t think, this duo needs any intro in food world! But, in case if someone never came across their spot.

Hey, you want to Laugh-Learn & Love?

Laugh: Check how the cluri has puffed like puris ! You gonna roll down, I don’t know how many times I red that post. Another one, which enjoyed a lot, Tête à tête: Woman-to-Woman well written by Bee :)

Learn: When you and I want to prepare the dinner or lunch. We just check the fridge or pantry for vegetables but this duo dig the soil of course to get their treasure, cut some green leaves for salad or pluck some fruits for dessert. Or look what is available for their season avaibility in their backyard farm from sweet berries, swiss chard to corn! Their posts remind my botony class, with all the nutrition fact & value! Definitely I am learning something in each and every post.

Love: who wouldn’t deny their picture is talking, expressing an unique style! They are Photo Amateurs. I always see their pictures and forgot even reading their post, that is the reality! Their healthy dishes seen through their camera lenses never failed to win your heart!
So go ahead and explore all the options they give u - sure you gonna LOVE it!

For the recipe, I really struggled to pick one. One month is not enough to try all their recipes!
I never tried any vegan recipe and when i noticed fruits and nuts cake! I chose to make fruits & nuts “War” cake

Changes made are very mild which Bee has suggested: Rum substituted by rum imitation by 2 tsp, didn’t soak the dry fruits. I use ½ cup of orange juice and 1 ½ cup of water too cook the dry fruits. One cup of light brown sugar!
Baking time was little longer, took one hour + 10 min.

The proof you can see in my picture. If u don’t have a sweet tooth like me, u sure gonna adore all their sweet treats and this one is must keep recipe (because it is Guilt Free and i go nuts for nuts). I feel Rum is key secret ingredient to bring the flavor :) As the chef and sous- chef don't booze substituted with imitation!

The second one is Barley with spiced yogurt! I would have never thought making “thayir barley”, followed their suggestion of adding fruits: I mixed some sweet champagne grapes & slightly riped mango!

The second one will be entering the MBP-fruit fare hosted by Aparna, event started by Coffee.
Finally, I can send to Madhu event “Your recipe Rock

So what are you waiting for go to their place and help yourself!

Have a great weekend!

Both look yummy. I am happy to use Rum rather than 'rum substitute'. :-) A little in the cake really does no harm!!
