Year in review

As the year draws to a close. Time to look back and glance quickly the last 12 months. I sustained pretty much with one post a week! And came a summer break and my blog went in crisis mode for three months :(  Lesson: don't take a long break!
For me, all my posts are Best and Close to my heart. But this year, I have tasted few new fruits.

*Rambutan: An exotic fruit, imported from Malaysia to India. The look is bit eerie , have a weird look on the outside but taste exactly like lychee.

*Yellow watermelon: Found in India -Don't know exactly where it comes from, I saw this yellow flesh and freaked out and bought a whole watermelon. It was quiet sweet and pretty of course!

*Organic pineapple guava akka Feijoa : Usually organic label will have a heavy price tag. But No, I  found  this one at my local farmers market this month for dollar a pound. The pineapple guava is oval shape and quiet firm not bigger than chicken egg. The flesh and taste is pretty much like guava and the seeds are slightly grainy. The outer skin is very tart and a hint of pineapple smell makes this fruit unusual. Feijoa is definitely different and aromatic!

Overall, I balanced baking and cooking. Enjoyed sharing with you and thanks for your inputs.

My goals

*Keep a good pace in blogging (probably the hard part- let me see)
*Participate at least in few Food events
*Feed more my Non Vegetarian category (pretty much dying - I know)

That is already enough to kick start a brand New Year for me!

Sending to Srivalli who enjoy hosting year after year this recap event.

See ya 2011 and Say Hello 2012 :)
