Whatever reasons (bad weather- not viewable-too tired to stay up all night or decided to watch in Dec.21 2094) if you have missed to watch the Moon Eclipse yesterday (Dec 20 in Bay Area and ended in Dec 21 2010).
You can have a glimpse of 4 phases that I captured through my camera. The main part (where the moon turned bright orange) could not be clicked - simple I didn't own any sophisticated lenses nor a passion nocturnal photographer.
I was not prepared to click the phases of Eclipse, as we have a stormy weather past few days in Bay Area. The live Streaming abandoned all the viewers stating : cloudy weather in SFO go to NASA website. I covered up and run to my backyard , even though it was quiet cloudy and patchy. I clicked and uploaded the moon before Eclipse- my son was so excited to see the picture. I thought I will document for him as he is learning right now about full moon and new moon :) I tried all the features possible in my camera to capture the creepy Orange-Red hue. But that seems quiet impossible for me and left out at the end.
There are 5 moon phases in this picture- it is a collage.
The first moon in the picture is taken at 9.00 PM (Before Eclipse)
The second (taken at 10.30 PM):The shadow started from the far left side from the bottom and progressed. It was silvered (grey color)
but the 3rd moon (taken at 11.00 PM) : the visual treat started from pink to almost orangey in naked eye.... The picture turned that part black :(
There is a 4 th moon (taken at 11.15PM) and 5th one ( taken at 11.30 PM) is barely visible in my picture (like a scratch on the top right corner) But in reality we enjoyed that view with Orange and white mixed.
Later after midnight, the moon was totally orange (like a pumpkin). You could have seen in internet :)
I was the luckiest one to watch the Ursids Meteor shower :) That was a double delight that could last forever !
